Licensing Partnership Annual Update Report 2018/19 pdf icon PDF 101 KB

The Head of the Licensing Partnership presented the annual update on the performance and activity of the Licensing Partnership.

 

Members asked questions of clarification and were advised that staffing levels had an impact on the performance indicators. It was queried whether going forward the volume of applications received could be included in the annual report.

 

Action: For Head of Licensing Partnership to circulate the numbers of applications received for each type of application alongside the percentages by mid-August 2019.

 

Resolved: That the performance of the partnership be noted, and the Head of the Licensing Partnership continue to provide an annual update on the Licensing Partnership activity to the Licensing Committee each municipal year.

Members considered a report which sought direction from the Committee on the options for reviewing the Council’s Statement of Licensing Policy for the five-year period 1 April 2015 – 31 March 2020 so as to include a policy for outdoor events. Following the consultation held between 12 April 2019 and 26 May 2019 the Committee was asked to assess the feedback received and decide upon the proposed amendments as set out in section 8 of the report, before recommendation to Council.

 

It was noted by Members that the feedback received was in support of the amendments.

 

Resolved: That it be recommended to Council that the revised statement of Licensing Policy be adopted from 23 July 2019.

Minutes:

The Licensing Act 2003 – Statement of Licensing Policy would need to be formally updated and would be considered at the September and January meetings.
