Brexit Update pdf icon PDF 63 KB

Minutes:

The Head of Transformation & Strategy presented the report which was acknowledged as being written and published before the week’s events at Parliament.

The notice of election for the local elections due to take place on 2 May 2019 was to be issued the day after the meeting.  At the moment it did not look as though the date would change and that if there was a need to hold a European election this would take place separately on 23 May 2019.

In response to a question, he advised that it was not ring-fenced for ‘Brexit’ and there was no current plan to use the funding from the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).  However, if required it could be used, for example, to help backfill any resource deficit caused by Officer’s time being taken up with any impact of Brexit.

Resolved:  That the report be noted.

(There was a brief adjournment between items as a member left the room and the room was not quorate, the meeting recommenced once it was quorate.)
