Action 1: That the local KALC representative be advised of when the final certificate for the stage 3 safety audit that had been carried out relating to the developer funded works at Trinity School, Seal Hollow Road, Sevenoaks, would likely be issued.

The matters arising and actions were noted.

Members considered the response to the petition requesting for 20 mph speed limits in central Sevenoaks. The request was currently being assessed in terms of feasibility and suitability.

Local Members expressed their support for introducing 20 mph zones and discussed funding options available from Sevenoaks Town Council or Kent County Council.

Resolved:  That the report be noted.

Request for parking restrictions in Chipstead High Street at the entrance of The Old Carriageway pdf icon PDF 177 KB

Minutes:

Members considered the response to the petition requesting for parking restrictions on Chipstead High Street at the entrance of The Old Carriageway. A design for the proposed waiting restrictions had been prepared and was going through the approval process. This would be followed by a formal traffic regulation order consultation.

Members considered the responses to and Officer recommendations for the applications for disabled persons’ (blue badge) parking bays at London Road in Dunton Green, Spring Head Road in Kemsing and Oliver Road in Swanley.

Resolved:  That the applications received for disabled persons’ (blue badge) parking bays at London Road, Dunton Green, Spring Head Road, Kemsing and Oliver Road, Swanley which did not meet the Kent County Council’s assessment criteria, and will proceed no further, be noted.

Highways Works Programme 2020/21 pdf icon PDF 519 KB

Minutes:

The Board considered a report which updated them on the identified schemes approved for construction in 2021/22 with the Sevenoaks District Manager (KCC) giving any relevant updates on the schemes listed.

Action 2: That the local district Member be provided an update on road safety measures at Marlpit Hill, Edenbridge.

Following a road traffic collision (RTC) on the A20 in Farningham, the local district Member expressed concerns over communication between Kent Police and Kent Highways teams. It was requested that an item be brought to the next meeting to inform the Board of how Kent Highways receive data from Kent Police relating to RTCs.

It was raised that residents had been lobbying Members requesting the installation of a pedestrian crossing to allow residents of Ryewood and Dunton Meadows, Dunton Green to safely cross Rye Lane / Station Road to access the railway station.

Resolved:  That the report be noted.
